Essie Burton, known by most as Gran, was born in 1899 in Bessemer, Alabama. Of her many grandchildren, only Adriana carefully watched how Gran made her lemonade and carried on Gran’s legacy at family dinners and special occasions. In 2008, while sharing the lemonade at her church’s Community Day, it was such a success that people suggested that Adriana sell it.

While Adriana no longer hand rolls and squeezes each lemon, she still makes every batch of lemonade by hand to ensure each glass meets Gran’s standards. She’s also expanded the product line to add seven additional fruit flavors.
